Project Overview
With the Development Approval being granted on 29 April 2026 following eight years of negotiation with government, council and operators, the approval is one of the most thoroughly tested and community-engaged tourism approvals the Sunshine Coast has seen. It provides a Development Permit for a Tourist Attraction, Food and Beverage Production, Food and Drink Outlet, Shop, and Function Facility across Stages 1 to 3, together with a Preliminary Approval providing the pathway to a 90-room hotel under Stage 4. Stages 1, 2 and 3 may commence simultaneously.
The precinct will deliver approximately 14,931 square metres of gross lettable area across four stages with a focus on food tourism, wellbeing, functions and short-stay accommodation. Beyond the built precinct, the site offers 45 hectares of quality bushland earmarked for walking trails, mountain biking and education-based nature experiences and a lake approved for nature-based tourism, anchoring its eco tourism credentials. Once operational, the precinct is forecast to generate $50 million in annual economic output, attract 520,000 visitors a year and support 25,000 hotel room nights.
